The whole project was directed by Hilary Keeley who is the manager at Franklin House.

Thanks Hilary for the opportunity to participate.

<![CDATA[National Year of Reading 2012 & Valentine's Cranberry Juice]]>Sat, 31 Mar 2012 08:14:04 GMThttp://tdmckinnon.com/macblogg1/national-year-of-reading-2012-valentines-cranberry-juiceHello again,

Well here it is almost April 2012 and I haven't had time to blog! What have I been doing? Well for one thing I have been one of five authors who have been writing a children's storybook for the National Year of Reading 2012. Franklin House, Australian Heritage, Tasmania invited me to be part of this exciting project and it's been a lot of fun to be a contributor. I am really looking forward to seeing the published work, which is due for release in May.

I have also been writing my latest piece, which is always a pleasure for me, but the weather has been so nice today I took the whole day off to enjoy the sun before the cold starts, but of course I am always 'thinking' about my writing and so I never really take any time off in the true sense of the word.

There are always a lot of hijinks around here with our 15 cats, all rescues, and our very bossy cockatiel bird, there's lots of entertainment to keep us laughing. One of our little furry friends, Valentine, was a little upset with me today when I lifted him off the top of the fridge, (Oh no not a cat on the fridge!... That’s a bit like a cat on the table!... Oh how unusual!), and he gave me a bit of a hiss, so I put him down and then I blew a raspberry as a mock hiss back at him, which made him take off down the hallway like a rocket shot to shore. He soon came back though and had another go at the top of the fridge. NO, I have no idea why... They all know that they can do whatever they please around here; no one ever gets into trouble. Yes, we are only here to serve.

Valentine has actually had a few health problems and has a pill twice a day, plus some water & cranberry juice to wash it all down. Here's a picture of me giving him his cranberry juice; yes all very maternal. He's very good though, if I forget, he comes and tells me it's time for his pill!

So that's what's been keeping me busy. More later.
